FAQ

What is a March for Jesus?

Please click on our ABOUT tab on the web-page. In a few words, March for Jesus is an extravagant worship celebration for Jesus in full public view.

Why would a city want to organize a March for Jesus?

Jesus is worthy of all worship. He deserves extravagant praise! On the day of the march, we leave our differences behind to come lavish our devotion on Him. The March creates an atmosphere for prayer, reconciliation and evangelism because Jesus is the focus.

How do you become a March Organizer?

A March Organizer is a person appointed or approved by a local group of Christian pastors and/or ministry leaders, called the Steering Committee. March for Jesus USA does not appoint the March Organizer in a community. If one desires to serve as the March Organizer, he or she may approach a group of pastors for consideration. The group of pastors makes the final decision as to who would be able to best fill the position. A local Steering Committee is a requirement for registering a local March for Jesus. This requirement is for your protection and protection of the integrity of March for Jesus.

How many leaders should be on the Steering Committee?

It has been our experience that at least (5) or more pastors and/or ministry leaders should make up the Steering Committee. Too many on the committee can make it difficult to come to a consensus and make decisions. It is helpful to consider the culture of your community when developing the Steering Committee. We want to be inclusive of Christian leadership and not exclusive. Some things to consider should be leaders that have a heart for your community and are highly respected, and have caught the mission and vision of March for Jesus. Other things you might want to consider would be denomination, race, gender etc.

What are the main responsibilities of the March Organizer?

The first and foremost responsibility as Organizer is to form and develop an Organizational Committee. This Committee is the engine that oversees all the various tasks, details and operations of the March. As leader of this Committee, you are responsible to maintain the progress of the March and keep the vision and mission before everyone at all times. The March for Jesus Tool-Kit will explain in detail specific tasks and responsibilities.

How much does it cost to put on a march?

The amount of money that is needed to put on a March for Jesus depends on the size of your march. The March for Jesus' funding strategy is designed to fully fund each local March. To see more details please go the “How to Fund a March for Jesus” section in the March for Jesus Tool-Kit.

What do we believe?

We believe in the Trinity—the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; the authority and infallibility of God’s Word; the virgin birth, sinless life, deity, crucifixion, and bodily resurrection of Jesus; salvation only through faith in Christ; and the physical return of Jesus Christ to earth. We affirm the Lausanne Covenant and the Nicene Creed.

Is marching for Jesus too confrontational in the current cultural climate?

For some believers this initiative may seem to be inappropriate in their particular community environment and therefore may chose not to participate. We respect that position. We do however ask that you pray those communities that will be marching.
